About the Candidate
James Kerr, CPA, CMA
Ward 1 has been home for me my entire life — roots that run deep. My parents moved to Aldershot in 1955, back when the area was still known as East Flamboro and the street now called Shadeland Avenue was simply Shady Lane. Growing up here, I've witnessed the ward evolve firsthand, and that lifelong connection helps guide the things I stand for as a candidate.
A Chartered Professional Accountant with a background in finance, corporate development, and government advisory work as a Chief Federal Negotiator and Special Representative — including service as a guest speaker to First Nations communities — I bring the kind of real-world experience Ward 1 deserves. I have a track record of listening, acting, and delivering results, and a deep commitment to making Ward 1 safer, more connected, and fiscally responsible.
I'm running on a platform of transparency, accountability, responsible growth and community-first leadership — because Ward 1 deserves nothing less.
